In this course we will talk what human trafficking is, what can we do to prevent it at best  and a sneak peek into the amount of work and knowledge that goes into the process from identifying and dealing with a victim and a trafficker, to what goes into the planning of a rescue and the after care.

Program: Forensic Interviewing and personal safety for traumatized victims and care takers.

Summary:

Techniques for better communicating with, and interviewing, the traumatized victims of physical and mental abuse. Think of victims of forced labor, sexual abuse, beatings and torture, threats, and oppression. With a focus on the challenges of communicating with victims of various ages, backgrounds and cultures as well as their caretakers like family members, host families or shelter homes. Tools for creating and providing a safe environment pre-, during and post rescue for all those involved. Developing a step-by-step guide and protocol tailored to your situation, location, department and/or organization. 

Subjects:

·     A better understanding of the difference between human trafficking, Human smuggling, domestic violence, victims of war.

·     A better understanding of the phases of planning from pre-rescue to post care, (intel, planning, action, after care)

·     Forensic interviewing: who, how, when, and why (technique and atmosphere)

·     Dealing with the press

·     Creating a safe environment for everyone involved (risk based)

·     Developing of documents, forms, protocols, and procedures for a consistent work process
